Three years ago today….

Today marks an important day in the history of me as an author. A little company called Two Dudes, Brews & Books was founded. And even though both of the Two Dudes have moved onto other companies, I thought it was important to at least remember the occasion anyway.

And speaking of Two Dudes, the new paperback covers for Paranormal Contact Volumes 1, 2 and 3 will be available sometime in the next 24 hours. I thought about changing them over to reflect my new company, but the series was printed under the Two Dudes company, and that’s where they should stay.

I am considering releasing the entire Paranormal Contact series in one book. Is that something people would be interested in? I would throw in a new short story in there as well. Let me know!

And there will be some serious writing done a little later today for the first book of mine that will be released under Wicked Good Time Publishing.  I’m trying to convince Austin that he should release The Heart Wants What The Heart Wants in paperback as well. He’s wavering, I think!

Have a good Sunday everybody!

Genres

Welcome back to another addition of the JeffTrelBooks blog. One of the big questions we get at Two Dudes, Brews & Books is all about the genres. Mostly, why do you only deal with science fiction? Well the short answer is we don’t.  Is it the primary focus of the books that I write and my business partner Jeremy Croston writes? Yes.

However, my first book “Everything Comes Full Circle” isn’t the least bit sci-fi. And now, Jeremy is taking a big risk. He’s stepping outside of his comfort zone and throwing is hat into the non-sci-fi ring. He’s got a new book that is available for pre-order.

It’s a great redemption story about boxer Oliver Callihan as he struggles to get back to his feet. There’s romance, there’s comedy, there’s drama. It’s a big risk for both Jeremy and Oliver for that matter. And quite frankly it truly pays off. I would recommend you pre-order the book!

Did you see what I did there? Throwing his hat into the ring. Story of a boxer? Come on people! Okay, it wasn’t that funny. But it was worth a shot!

Meanwhile this is me telling you (yes you) to go ahead and pick up the Time Traveler’s Journal, available now!

Stay tuned next week for an exciting announcement!

A New Business Deal has been made

JefftrelBooks Logo (10)

Good afternoon everyone! Hope you’re having a fantastic Thursday. I come to you today with exciting news. As many of you know that over a year ago I co-founded an Independent Publishing Company called the Two Dudes, Brews & Books along with my business partner Jeremy Croston (https://ragnarokonice.wordpress.com/).

After much deliberation with Jeremy (and by much I mean two minutes and a promise of next round is on him) we have decided to add my other company 67 Studios Production into the fold as well.

The deal is for the next twenty five years at about a cost of $0.00 per year. Because of the high price of the deal, future books will probably stay the same price. We’re sorry for the inconvenience this will have on your book purchasing.

What does this business mean to you? It means we will be able to produce more images and videos for our book releases and a few extras for the podcast as well.

Have a good one everybody!

Two Dudes, Brews and Books Re-Launch Party

JefftrelBooks Logo (10)

Once again the graphics department is at it again. I think this time we found a keeper! Guys, I’ve lost count of how many logos you’ve made. But this one… This one is perfect!

I have mentioned several times that I am the co-founder of Two Dudes, Brews and Books. First and foremost it’s an independent publishing company that Jeremy and I have started to get our books out there. As part of it, we have a Facebook Group and a podcast as well.

In an effort to get our name further out there, Jeremy and I are having a huge re-launch party next Thursday. Along with 3 other writers from our group, we want to give away prizes and have some games and trivia. All you have to do is be on Facebook and join us. We’d love to have you!

Authors Helping Authors Interview # 2: Bree Kraemer

Authors Helping Authors Logo 2

Welcome back for another Authors Helping Authors Interview. This time I got a chance to sit down with Bree Kraemer.

Jeff:  How are you today?
Bree: I’m doing great.  Thanks for having me.
Jeff: Of course! Tell us a little bit about yourself? Maybe something that not a lot of people know about?
Bree: There’s probably a lot that people don’t know about me. But the big one is most likely that I was a national champion synchronized swimmer at The Ohio State University. Crazy right?   Go Bucks!
Jeff: What are you working on now?
Bree: I am writing two books currently.  Book 4 in The Only Series which is my original genre of Romance.  The second book is a Contemporary Fiction book that will have no romance at all.  It’s a little scary to step out of my comfort zone but I really think that this will be a story that a lot of people will resonate with.
Jeff: At what point in your life did you decide you were going to become a writer?
Bree: I have to thank my husband for that. I have always been a reader. And I read a lot.  A couple of years ago, he mentioned that I should write.  I was all, “Really?  Do you think I can do that?” and he said just try.  So I did and here I am.
Jeff: Which two characters that you have created have been your favorites so far?
Bree: I am in LOVE with Emma.  She was the lead in If Only and I just seriously fell in love with her personality.  The other is my first female lead, Samantha.  She is so strong and the things that she had to go through to get to where she is…Well, I wish I was that strong.
Jeff: How much time in between books do you generally take? Do you finish one and immediately jump into the next or is there a rest period?
Bree: I find that I can’t start a new story until I hit publish on my previous work.  So during the whole editing process, I pretty much don’t write anything new.  I hate it though because I feel like it’s a waste of time.
Jeff: Worst review you ever gotten?
Bree: I got a 1 star that said the book was so boring and that the ending sucked.  I remember that my friend called me in an outrage and I hadn’t even seen it yet.
Jeff: What do you think is the hardest part of being a writer?
Bree: Honestly, remembering all the facts about my characters and stories.  I have to keep a notebook of hair colors and personality traits.  It’s ridiculous.
Jeff: As an author, who are your biggest influences?
Bree: Too many to count.  I started off, years ago reading Nora Roberts and to this day, I will read anything she writes.  But right now I am obsessed with Christina Lauren (It’s 2 authors that co-write) I love them.  Their personalities, their writing. Everything.  I might want to BE them.  If they ever go missing, check my house.
Jeff: I will definitely be sure to alert the authorities in the event either or both of them go missing! And finally, what would you like to say to your readers?
Bree: Just stick with me.  My writing is growing and getting better everyday. Don’t judge a girl by her first book.
Jeff: As a new author myself, I agree. My second book is ten times better than my first book. And the book I’m working on now is even better. Every author learns as he or she grows. Thank you for your time, Bree!

Drumming up some business

Good Thursday afternoon everyone. Hope you’re having a good day so far.

I just wanted to let my readers know that if you enjoy my books you should definitely check out my business partner’s books. And what better time to do that then soon because there’s a sales coming. And who doesn’t like a sale? The first will be from Sunday, July 12th through Thursday, July 16th.  During that five-day stretch, The Wrath of Pan will be available for free on Amazon.  The reason for such a give-a-way is on Wednesday, July 15th he will be releasing The Cascade Snowman, on origin story that takes place thirty-five years before The Cactus Killer. The Wrath of Pan is the second book in his Inglewood Chronicles (behind The Cactus Killer)

But wait….. that’s not all! The other big sale will be from July 19th through July 23rd.  All three companion novellas in the Ragnarok on Ice series will be free for kindle readers.  Read Power Play, but haven’t picked up Blood and Arrows or Hat Trick yet?  That week will be the perfect time.  Face Off, which bridges the gap between Penalty Kill and Game Over will also be free for all.

Then there’s our business associate Jack Crosby’s sale too.   Grab your copies of Old War Stories starting today and lasting through Saturday for free on your Kindle.  Old War Stories is the follow-up to the highly entertaining and rather profane Death Among Us.  Main character Derrick Grimm (aka Death) is back and when his brother War shows up, The **BLEEP*** hits the fan!

There will be a sale coming up for Paranormal Contact Volume 1 as well. Dates to be announced. I will keep you posted!

I’m speechless right now…

Good morning/afternoon/evening readers.

For those of you that don’t really know me as a person, I’m loud. I can be obnoxious at times (Truth be told, who can’t?). I have the mouth of an Italian sailor on shore leave for ten hours. So for me to be at a total loss for words is a rarity. But I am right now. Why?

Here’s why. My business partner Jeremy Croston (ragnorakonice.wordpress.com) was nominated for an award for his book The Cactus Killer recently. His professor from school is part of the team that makes those nominations. In an effort to help me be a better writer, Jeremy showed him Paranormal Contact Volume One. He was impressed by it! Sure, it’s not perfect as someone here recently told me. Nominations had all ready been announced, so my book isn’t truly eligible. But he gave me a special nomination anyway and said “This is to make sure you get a book ready for next year’s contest”. Rest assured Mr. O’Brien I am hard at work. Thank you for the inspiration!

While the name of our company is Two Dudes, Brews and Books there is a third honorary member to our team. His name is Jack Crosby. If you read Paranormal Contact Volume One (and I really hoped that you did!) you know both Jack and Jeremy show up as exaggerated versions of themselves. Well, Jack has released his second book today. It’s called Old War Stories. It’s a sequel to his first book Death Among Us. If you’re fans of books full with demons and sex and violence and sex and violence and sex and a little more violence, you need to be reading his books. They are available right now on Amazon.com.
