State of Sales April 2017

Welcome back to the State of Sales for April 2017. If you remember last month I had a big ol goose egg. Well the good news when that happens is I can only go up, right? And I did!

It does help that I did a free sale which got my name out there a little bit more. It’s a necessary evil to give away free books. Especially if it helps me get some sales in the long run.

The leader in book sales continues to be the Anthology that Morganna Williams, Jack Crosby, Jeremy Croston and I wrote called “Twisted & Sinful Stories”. That book has definitely proven that sex sells. With the exception of last month, there has been at least one sale a month since it’s release back in May of 2016. Has it really been that long? I’d say we need to do another one….

The Time Traveler’s Journal also had some sales this month as well. I know I’ve said it before, but of all my books that is the book I’m most proud of. Reviews have been excellent on that book too, which is good.

Stick with me because there’s some exciting news coming up in the very near future as far as this blog goes. It’s awesome when you’re able to partner with people you trust. So I’ll be able to announce that soon, I think.

In the mean time, have a good one (almost) everybody!

State of Sales for Feb 2017

I want to start a new feature at the start of every month. This will be to give you the readers a look at my sales for the previous month. Sometimes it’s going to be a good month. Others, well it will be like February of 2017.

I know that as an independent author, there are going to be some slow times. It’s hard out there for an author like me when there’s so many options for readers to look into. I also know that I don’t do the best job marketing my books sometimes, so it’s something I need to do a better job at. Because I know it’s my fault, I’m not going to complain about sales.

To help spark some sales (hopefully), I’m looking to give away some free books. Whenever I give away Time Traveler’s Journal I have great turn out so that’s definitely in the running. I also haven’t given away Paranormal Contact Vol. 3 yet, so I’m looking into that as well. But I’m open to other suggestions as well.

So, last month I had  two sales. I don’t know if you bought the book and you’re reading this blog, if you did thank you. I appreciate it. My goal for the month is to triple it. I know it’s not setting any world record but as an author starting out on my own these days I have to set my goals small.

Twisted & Sinful Stories keeps chugging along. Since it’s debut in May 2016 has sold at least one copy every month. That says a lot about the writing of the other great authors that contributed to the book, Morganna Williams, Jeremy Croston and Jack Crosby. It is the most successful book with my name on it.

The other book with a sale last month was Paranormal Contact Vol. 2. I think I’ve said it before, but PC Vol. 2 is my favorite book in the series and my second favorite book I’ve written.

This weekend there will be a new Top 5 so keep your eye out for that. I’ll be back with some more updates as well soon. So have a good one everybody!

So far…

“Everything Comes Full Circle” has been beating my expectations so far. Reviews, for the most part, have been good. And sales have been steady.

I want to thank everyone that has bought the book so far. If you told me a year ago I would be a published author, I’d probably laugh in your face. But it’s true.

I say reviews were good for the most part, because I dealt with my first negative review. The first thing you have to remember when you buy me book (for just .99 cents on Amazon) is that I am a first time writer. So there are going to be mistakes made. I wish there weren’t, but it’s true. I’d go back and fix them if I could. Instead, I have to learn from them as I move forward with my second book.

One of the critiques was something I knew would be an issue, and it’s something I addressed here not long ago. I tend to write more dialogue than anything else. It’s something I am working on for my second novel. More on that in my next blog.

If you were one of the people to buy my book (or are planning too) please leave me a review on either Amazon.com or Goodreads.com. I read everything that is written. You can also email me or tweet me as well.
