Happy 2018!

JefftrelBooks Logo (10)

I’ve spent the early part of my 2018 in a conference call with Austin Graves, and we both agreed that we have slacked too long. It’s been a year and a half since I released my last book and I’m looking forward to releasing under the Wicked Good Time Publishing label with my next book. Austin was beyond disappointed in the lack of sales with his book as well. But we’re going to focus harder to make sure our next books are successes! So buckle up.

I hope everyone had a great New Year’s eve last night. The best is yet to come!

State of Sales October 2017

State Of Sales

This year is really flying by, isn’t it? I can’t believe it’s already November. Also, and very important, this weekend for those of you on the east coast we change our clocks back. That’s right, we lose an hour of sleep. Why can’t that ever happen when we’re at work? Seriously? That would be awesome!

So I ran a free sale this week for the entire Paranormal Contact series. I’m glad I did, because those are the only numbers I had this month. To quote Kevin Sorbo’s Hercules from a different realm…. DISAPPOINTED!!!!!

The free sales are not that good either, but it is what it is. I’ve said it before, I didn’t become an author for the fame and fortune. It would be nice though! I guess it’s my own fault. I haven’t put out a new book in over a year now. But I am working on changing that!

Hope everyone had a safe and happy Halloween. If you want to get rid of any candy you can send it to my house. I will gladly take one for the team. Especially if you have Butterfingers.

Not one, Not Two…

JefftrelBooks Logo (10)

Not One, Not Two, but three free books! It’s becoming a Halloween Tradition for me to release the Paranormal Contact series during Halloween. Last year Paranormal Contact Vol. 3 was released with the first two books being free. Well since there is no new release this year I wanted to make the entire trilogy available for free! So that’s what I’m doing!

Books for Free October 2017

First time doing the free books with the new covers! So even if you have the book, you should get it for free to make sure you have the most up to date cover! 😉

This weekend I will come back with another blog! Hope to see you then!

Have a good one everybody!

World Series is set 2017

JefftrelBooks Logo (10)

So the World Series is set now. It’s a matter of who I want to win vs who I think will win. Let’s take a look at the series. It’s the Houston Astros vs the LA Dodgers. Either way, we are getting a new champion. The Astros have never won the World Series. The Dodgers last won it 29 years ago. So either way, I think that’s exciting. I think it’s always a good thing when a team wins it for the first time in a long time. Sure, dynasties are good too. But seeing the same teams in the finals (regardless of the sport) can get a little tiresome. I’m looking at you Cavs and Warriors!

So who do I want to win? The Houston Astros. They are my second favorite team and the only other team I actually root for other than the Red Sox. Why Houston? I have a connection to a former Astro great named Jeff Bagwell. Not only by name alone, but we attended the same high school (he graduated from there, I left after two years) and the same college (both graduated.) He was drafted by the Red Sox and traded to Houston. So because of him, I liked the Astros. At that point they were in the National League so it was okay to like them. They recently moved to the American League for no real reason.

Who do I think will win? The Dodgers. They have been on fire all season long (minus a stretch late in the season when they pretty much had their playoff spot secured) and have continued to that streak in the playoffs, only losing one game so far.  When you are able to dispose of the reigning defending World Series champion like you are swatting a fly, that tells you what kind of team the Dodgers are.

Either way I think we are in for an exciting World Series. But if I had to make a prediction it will be Dodgers in 6 games.

Check back later in the week as I will have a free book announcement as well as the Club Kayfabe Creative Community Spotlight. Until then have a good one everybody.

Three years ago today….

JefftrelBooks Logo (10)

Today marks an important day in the history of me as an author. A little company called Two Dudes, Brews & Books was founded. And even though both of the Two Dudes have moved onto other companies, I thought it was important to at least remember the occasion anyway.

And speaking of Two Dudes, the new paperback covers for Paranormal Contact Volumes 1, 2 and 3 will be available sometime in the next 24 hours. I thought about changing them over to reflect my new company, but the series was printed under the Two Dudes company, and that’s where they should stay.

I am considering releasing the entire Paranormal Contact series in one book. Is that something people would be interested in? I would throw in a new short story in there as well. Let me know!

And there will be some serious writing done a little later today for the first book of mine that will be released under Wicked Good Time Publishing.  I’m trying to convince Austin that he should release The Heart Wants What The Heart Wants in paperback as well. He’s wavering, I think!

Have a good Sunday everybody!

Top 5 Tom Petty Tribute

top-5-new

It’s been a week since Tom Petty died. Well, I guess he died one week from tomorrow but the original news came out a week ago today. And it’s hard to turn on a live TV show and not hear a tribute to Petty. I think my favorite has been the University of Florida Gators crowd singing along to “I Won’t Back Down.”

I was going to do a top 5 Tom Petty songs, but seeing how I’m going to be doing one of those on my personal website soon, I figured I would change it up a little bit. So instead we’re getting a top 5 Tom Petty albums list!

Honorary Mentions – Songs from “She’s The One”, Southern Accents, Greatest Hits and Pack Up The Plantation Live Album

5- Damn The Torpedos – From 1980, three of Petty’s early hits were off this album. His late 80’s albums got more record play but you can’t beat songs like Here Comes My Girl, Refugee and Don’t Do Me Like That

4- Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers – From 1977 off their first album. It’s hard to believe the band started back in the 70s! American Girl and Breakdown are the most known hits off this one.

3- Wildflowers – 1994 saw the release of this solo album from Petty. So many great songs off this one. You Don’t Know How It Feels,  It’s Good To Be King and You Wreck Me are all great songs. But there are some seriously underappreciated songs off this one. Take a listen to Wake Up Time, House In The Woods or Time to Move On.

2- Into The Great Wide Open – When I started compiling the list, this album was listed as # 1. But the more I looked at the songs, I had to flip it. And quite honestly you can’t go wrong with either album. But with hits like Into The Great Wide Open, Makin’ Some Noises and Kings’ Highway it’s an awesome album.

1-  Full Moon Fever – Free Fallin’, I Won’t Back Down and Runnin’ Down a dream. Enough said.

And there it is.  Do you agree? Go on and put on your favorite Petty song and remember what an awesome performer he was!

Various Updates October 2017

There was a part of me that was going to break from my normal blog posts.  I almost wrote a Hot Button Topic Blog similar to what would have been said on that old podcast I used to do to describe how I feel about America these days. But I won’t go into that. There’s a time and a place for it, and I don’t think my blog mostly about books is the place for it. But make no mistake about it, it is the time to discuss things. You want to know how I feel? Hit me up. I’ll tell you exactly how I feel.

What I will say is this…. Last year I started writing a book that was going to be ultra violent. It would have been unlike any of my other books previous. But I stopped and looked at the world as it was. You don’t need to read a book about violence. Because all you have to do is turn on the news. I refused to contribute to it. Maybe there will be a time that I will revisit that book, because I was enjoying it. But I am glad that I stopped it when I did.

Today would have been the day that I would have released the new covers for the paperback books for Paranormal Contact, but I’m having a hard time connecting to the website that would have released them. So it looks like that venture is on hold for a little bit. I will let you know when the new covers will be available when I know.

I’m at a loss for words about the death of Tom Petty last week. I’ve always been a fan of him. I had just gotten off of work on Monday and I wanted to see what was happening in the world. So I logged onto social media. One of the first posts I saw made my jaw drop. “Oh no. Not Tom Petty.”

So later today or tomorrow I will be doing a special top 5 of best Tom Petty songs.

State Of Sales September 2017

State Of Sales

Welcome back everyone! It’s the first of the month so it’s time to take a look at some sales numbers. Yeah, just what everyone wanted. So exciting right? Yes, that’s full sarcasm.

So I have some good news and bad news. At least for me anyway. The good news is I had six sales this month. The bad news is they are all from one title. I would prefer to split them up a little bit, but that’s not the case.

And it’s no surprise that the big winner this month is Twisted & Sinful Stories. I have stated many times that it’s the been the most popular book to be released from Two Dudes, Brews & Books publishing.

It has sales in 7 of the previous 9 months of the year. More importantly if we get two more sales, it will hit a pretty cool milestone. 200 people would have purchased the book. So yeah, all four of the authors in this one should be pretty proud of that number.

Moving on from the State Of Sales, the Kindle versions of Paranormal Contact are available once with the new covers. So you should go check those out on Amazon. Next week I will see what I can do about getting them available for paperback as well.

I’ll be back later in the week with a top 5 or something, I’m overdue for one of those. In the mean time have a good one everybody!

Paranormal Contact On Hold – Kindle Version

JefftrelBooks Logo (10)

Happy Friday everyone. Hope you have plans to have a Wicked Good Time this weekend.  Just wanted to stop by and give you a little bit of an update. If you were looking to get the Paranormal Contact series on Kindle today, I’m sorry to tell you that you can’t. The Paranormal Contact Series is being withheld for a few days while the Kindle versions update to the brand new and bad ass covers that were designed by Wicked Good Time Publishing. I will certainly let you know when all three are available.

You want to see one of the new covers? Here you go!

Paranormal Contact Vol 1 Redesign

It is very similar to the original cover as far as the design goes, but I think it adds a little bit more to the spooky nature of it.

Speaking of Wicked Good Time Publishing, we are in talks to bring on a few new authors to publish with us. We are very excited about this. The more people we have, the more people will be talking about us. So that’s always a good thing.

CKCC Spotlight

We are back in the Club Kayfabe Creative Community (CKCC) Spotlight. We recently talked about a wrestling podcast in the group, but now we are talking about another. Take a listen to Wrestling With Fanboy Mark Jabroni’s Ring Rust.  Mark has been a lifelong fan and is very knowledgeable. Check him out!

UPDATE: PC Covers

JefftrelBooks Logo (10)

Happy Monday morning everybody. Yeah I know. I feel the same way.

I just wanted to give you a quick update. All three of the Paranormal Contact covers will be changing next week. I got together with the team at Wicked Good Time Publishing and came up with three new covers. So I think it will be easier to change the Kindle version first, so expect that this weekend. And then I will roll out the paperback covers after that.

I’m very happy with the new covers. It adds a little bit more of my personality in the covers, I think. I’m also looking to possibly update the Everything Comes Full Circle cover as well. I will keep you posted on that as well.

Have a good work week everybody! Hang in there!

Welcome to JefftrelBooks, this is where I write about my progress of writing my novels.
